Bob Prevost is a General Contractor who works closely with Architects, Designers and Owners alike, providing custom work in residential and commercial projects.
Bob began his career as a trained draftsman working in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a Civil and Consulting Engineering firm, Williams, Hatfield and Stoner. Drafted by the US Army, Bob finished his tour of Duty in Honolulu where he was stationed and found employment again with another Civil Engineering Firm, Brian Gray and Associates. In 1979, starting his own company “Creative Woodwork and Design”, Bob secured a “C” license specialized in cabinetry and millwork while working out of his garage in Hawaii Kai. Bob’s first clients included John Hillerman and Tom Seleck from the TV show Magnum PI, as well as Dolly Parton constructing her DP’s Dockside Plantation restaurant. Over the next 10 years Bob was commissioned to build custom furniture for many designers and home owners.
In the late 1980’s Bob obtained his Hawaii General Contractor “B” license and began working with local Architects and Sub-Contractors on residential and commercial projects. In addition, Bob worked on several other significant projects including penthouse build outs at the “Waikiki Landmark Condominium”, major home renovations as well as the two story commercial building renovation at 614 Cook Street.
In 1998, due to the repeat commercial work, Bob changed his company name to “Commercial Contracting Hawaii” and ironically began building custom homes, as well as many residential remodeling projects.
Now well established in Campbell Industrial Park in Kapolei, Bob’s 2100 sq ft work shop has the capability to take on projects where he can produce his own finish work, working within the client’s budget.
In 2008, Bob was recognized by the BIA as the General Contractor and the winner of the 23rd annual Residential Home category. Named as the “Japanese Jewel Box” by Honolulu Magazine, this residential home was featured in their July issue showcasing Architect Richard Bass for his design.
